Janine De Jorge, DipComnServ, BA (Des&Comn) is a fully qualified children’s yoga therapy teacher, and has completed an adults multi style yoga teacher training. Janine has been a youth social worker for 18 years and supported 100’s of teens to move through crisis situations and onto a better path, with the use of specific yoga techniques. This inspired Janine to produce her own Yoga Wellbeing Program which has been impacting kids in positive ways since 2022.


Professionally trained to support adolescents, she understands the developing brain and the impact of trauma.


Janine is fully accredited by Zenergy Yoga – the leading training organisation of children’s yoga, who set the Standards in Children’s Yoga Australia.

Janine is passionate to help young people, as she experienced a difficult time during adolescence. Janine knows if she had acquired these techniques much earlier, her experiences would have been much more positive.

Mt View High School

Please accept this letter as a recommendation for HUNTER YOGA SYNC. Approximately 15 students throughout this term have been participating in the HUNTER YOGA SYNC PROGRAM. 

Student were selected for the program, as they were either presenting to our Wellbeing team showing signs of stress or anxiety and were looking for strategies to manage their emotions in a positive way.

Students have completed 5 weeks of the program thus far. Throughout the sessions students are kindly guided through yoga poses that are meridian-based yoga therapy. The yoga poses are designed to relieve tension and stress on a physical, mental and emotional level.

Throughout the sessions students also work on calming breathing techniques and growth mindset activities to help create lasting change beyond the yoga room.

All students have engaged well with the program and have only positive feedback following each session.

Children can generally start yoga as soon as they are able to follow instructions, typically around age 3-4. At this age yoga can be introduced in a playful way using imagination, stories, games and songs.



Yes, yoga can be beneficial for children with ADHD. Studies suggest that yoga can help improve focus, reduce hyperactivity and impulsivity, and enhance overall well-being in children diagnosed with ADHD. Yoga, particularly when combined with mindfulness techniques, has shown positive effects on various ADHD symptoms.  


While general yoga classes can offer benefits, yoga therapy is specifically designed to address individual needs and health challenges with a more focused and therapeutic approach.    


Yoga offers numerous benefits for children, including improved physical health, enhanced focus and concentration, better emotional regulation, increased self-esteem, and stress reduction.
